The Story
Linen-era Florida postcards, reprinted as postcards again. Each is a full-bleed 4 x 6 inch card on heavy matte stock with a plain writing side. The Tichnor Brothers of Boston published the originals between about 1930 and 1945; the ones here are in the public domain and have been cleaned of foxing, creases and the archive's pencil marks. Springs and glass-bottom boats, orange groves and packing houses, the streamliners, the beach, a tarpon on the line and an egret rookery, and the fourteen Lost Florida cards from the reels: the Sunshine Skyway, the Gandy Bridge, the Venetian Pool, Marineland's Flippy, Daytona from the air and more. Thirty-seven designs.
