Terms of Service

Who we are and what this covers

Vintage Florida operates www.vintageflorida.com, an editorial site and online shop based in Florida. These terms apply to everyone who visits the site, reads the Dispatch, subscribes to our mail, sends us a submission, or places an order. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Orders and payment

Checkout is provided by Shopify on shop.vintageflorida.com. Prices are in US dollars and can change without notice, but the price shown at checkout is the price you pay. Sales tax is charged where the law requires it. An order is accepted when we send the confirmation email; we may cancel and refund an order before it ships if an item is unavailable or was listed at an obviously wrong price.

Prints, postcards, magnets, stickers and apparel are printed to order by our production partner and ship in the time stated on our Policies page. Shipping costs are shown at checkout. Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier accepts the package, and we will help with any carrier claim.

Returns

Unworn, unused goods can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund to the original payment method, less shipping. Archival prints and one-of-a-kind Cabinet artifacts are final sale. Anything that arrives damaged or misprinted will be replaced or refunded; write to us with a photo within 14 days of delivery.

Our content

The writing, charts, photographs, product designs, the Vintage Florida name and the crest are ours or used under license, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may read, share links to, and quote short passages from the Dispatch with attribution. You may not copy articles in full, reproduce our product designs, or use our name or crest to suggest a connection with us, without written permission.

Many images we publish are reproductions of postcards and photographs whose copyright has expired. Those underlying works are in the public domain and remain so; our restorations, layouts and text are not.

Your submissions

If you send us a photograph, a story, a correction, or another contribution, you confirm that you have the right to share it. You keep ownership. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to publish it on the site and in our social feeds and mail, with credit as you request, and to edit it for length and house style. Tell us if you later want it taken down and we will remove it from the site.

Accuracy

We work hard to get the history right and we cite our sources. Even so, the Dispatch is written for general readers, not as legal, financial, or professional advice, and figures can be revised by the agencies that publish them. If you find an error, write to us; we correct articles and note the correction on the page.

Acceptable use

Do not use the site to break the law, to send us material that is unlawful or that you do not have the right to share, to scrape the site in bulk, or to interfere with how it runs. We can refuse service, cancel orders, or block access to anyone who does.

Third-party services

Parts of the site rely on other companies: Shopify for checkout and customer records, Printful for production and shipping, Vercel for hosting, and the social platforms where we post. Their terms govern your use of their services. Links to other sites are provided for reference and are not endorsements.

Limitation of liability

The site and its content are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, Vintage Florida is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute that cannot be settled by talking to us will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Florida.

Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top changes when we do, and material changes will be noted on this page for at least 30 days. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new terms.

Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent through our contact page.

How we handle information is in the Privacy Policy. Shipping and returns in brief are on the Policies page. To reach us, use the Contact page.
