The Story

The Vinoy Park Hotel from the water, on a linen card from the 1930s. It opened on New Year's Eve 1925, ten months after construction began. Aymer Vinoy Laughner built it after a party where the golfer Walter Hagen drove balls off the face of Laughner's pocket watch, or so the story goes. Rooms were $20 a night with meals, among the highest rates on the coast, and Coolidge, Hoover and Babe Ruth stayed. The military trained cooks and bakers here in the Second World War. It closed in 1974 at $7 a night and sat empty for 18 years before a $93 million restoration reopened it in 1992.

Printed on enhanced matte paper in 10 x 8 and 14 x 11 unframed, and 16 x 12 and 18 x 12 framed or unframed. Framed pieces come in a black, white, or red oak alder frame under clear acrylic, ready to hang; the matted option adds a white mat inside the frame. Unframed prints ship flat. Made to order, so allow 2 to 5 business days before it ships.
